A Milestone Is Being Met

At last, I have my site setup with the most recent version of WordPress, the plugins I want(and working), and templates that I like(tweaked accordingly). Its time to focus on creating content worthy of all those willing to visit my site. In the days to come, I will focus on filling out my various review catagories and giving my personal perspective about everything. Yes, I have an opinion, and it dictates; that since this is my blog, everyone has a right to hear it. Of course, as most in the Wordpress community, I will be continuesly developing my site's functionality and accessability for my guest. That's the focus, my guest. So, please visit occasionally, and please leave your opinions about anything you like. Feel free to critic me (tell me I'm wrong), my site and offer advice.

WP-Amazon Works!!

Praise be to God! It finally works!! I have been pulling my hair out over this. First, in order to make it work, you not only need an Amazon Associates acct. number, you also need to register for an Subscription ID. Second, SmartFTP can suck, as can most FTP Clients I've tried. If at first the plugin Doesn't work, delete it, and I do mean delete. If you try to simply upload and write over the files you'll fail. Delete, then upload. Third, check to make sure your web sever has Curl installed for PHP. Most do, but it is still good to verify.

Pink Floyd / Dark Side of the Moon

*****

Dark Side of the Moon

This is the the ultimate Floyd album to have, especially if you only have one. This is one of those truly classic albums that defined a bands uniqueness and originality. Every song on this artwork is well known by the public, and no two songs sound alike - even though the entire album is very cohesive. If your going to build a classics collection this would definitely be in the top ten. Click on the image for more reviews at Amazon.

Internet Explorer Vs. Firefox

The diference between the two browsers is unbelievable. What looks good in Firefox, looks like crap in I.E.. My header image is completely off in I.E., when I use the Kubrick style template. In Firefox it is perfect. Of course, Firefox is actually scripting language compliant, and shockingly, Microsoft is not. MS hasn't worked on I.E. in seven years. That makes it like a seventies model car in todays standards. Biggest problem is that there still is seventy percent of the population that uses I.E..

Figuring Out My Cameraphone

The instructions in the manual are so vague that it is pitiful. Completely lacking in professionalism. It turns out, that if my phones camera is set to the maxium resolution, the zoom is disabled. I discovered this purely by accident while trying to capture several shots of something. I wanted to get each shot onto memory, so I lowered the resolution to shrink file size, and thus, increase memory capacity.

Suddenly, there were icons for features such as zoom. Also, with the naked eye, you can now see the visual difference between portrait and macro settings for the lens.

My phone is the Audiovox 8920 provided by Sprint. It has an 1.3 megapixal camera and a very good speakerphone. I suggest the extended battery, even though Consumers Reports magazine rated it as one of Sprints best for talk time. And yes, I also would reccommend Verizon or Cingular over Sprint any day. My being stuck with a two year agreement is the only reason I'm still with them.
