My Son Cameron

He changed my life the day he was born. He made me want to be a better human being. He saved my life by being something for which to live. He is proof that God exists and is merciful to me. He is good at everything that I am not. And above all, he loves me – even though I let him down, and disappoint, and at times embarrass him. I don’t deserve someone this special in my life.

This is where God proves that he is so merciful, by giving me a son that makes up for how completely lacking the rest of my life has been.

Cameron was born with a big heart and naturally good character. He proved this to me even before his first birthday. But, it was on his first birthday that I became utterly convinced.

Steffi had fallen and hurt herself, and was crying. Cameron, who was first learning to walk, struggled to get over to her. Once there, he leaned his head down upon her and began to pat her on the back in order to comfort her. This may sound like nothing more than a coddling father, but to have been there and witness the genuine concern in this babies face over someone else, was proof to me that he had a naturally deep-rooted compassion and sympathy for others. And, he has since continued to display boldly a sense of empathy.

What Does It Mean To Assay ?

What does it mean to assay ? It is an old French word, meaning to examine from the core of existence outward. To find the true essence of something, or; in this case; someone. I am not the first to write his assays; I credit that honor to Michele De Montaigne. He wrote of many subjects; as I shall.

For what are we but that which is on the inside of our shells. That which no one else can see or feel. What we have experienced, and what we have learned from it, homogenizes within ourselves and makes who we are at any given moment.

In the words of Aldus Huxley,

we are a society of island universes

And, in the words of Lao Tzu,

each moment we experience changes us, thus we can never truly know ourselves, much less another

So who am I…..I wonder……?

The Island of Ibiza/ A Must-Do In Your Life

Seriously Sweet Ass

If you go anywhere as a single adult, it should be Ibiza. It sits in the Mediterranean off the coast of Spain. It is an awsome place to party, literally 24/7. Basically, spring break year round. but don't let that fool you; it's not simple a bunch of college freshman on this island; people of all ages are here to getaway from the real world. This island is for everyone, and in abundance.

The women are beyond words. They are truly magnificent, and they are there to be totally hedonistic. Then they go home to Britain, France, Germany, or where ever it is they are from. they probally aren't even using they're real names when your with them.

Islands like this have replaced the club and dating scenes of generations past.

Absinthe/The Green Genie Returns

19th century absinthe posterThe mystery of the green genie returns. The unique concoction from the ninetenth century, made the most creative minds of the time halucinate. It was the oil of Wormwood that when mixed at a certain ratio; would produce what would have to be the worlds first; mixed drink cocktail. Pernod and oil of Wormwood bring forth a sense of euphoric bliss and visionary experience similair to LSD or Peote.

It seems that all generations have pursued an Altered State of Consciousness.

It has become legal again in all countries but the United States. The USA, where the sale of absinthe is still technically prohibited, although it is not illegal to possess, or to drink.
