It is a shocking statement to make. It is a statement made by an individual, who believes that all warfare; and lessor scale acts of violence and destruction; are proof that humans are a primitive species. A statement made by a person who actually believes that there is a God of grace and beauty. A person who is terrified that the only thing good that ever happened to him; and the only person he has ever loved beyond comprehension; my son; may die one day in a war.
So why make such a shocking statement? Why dare to inflame the masses against me. Why dare those who may target me?
I submit the facts to a candid world.
Never in the history of the Middle-East has there ever been a period of true peace. There have been periods in history when Arabic tribes have literally perpetrated genocide toward one another. Fortunately, due to a lack of adequate technology in their collective cultures, they have been contained within their region, and haven't been capable of posing much threat to the rest of the world. But over the course of the past two hundred years, western civilization has wrongfully colonized and then tooled with technology cultures less sophisticated than our own. Due to the very nature of their desert existence; these cultures have very harsh beliefs and social customs amongst their own. They have evolved in the direction of a very hard people; case point:the conditions which women are forced to exist within their cultures.
1500 years of western cultural and religious exploitation of the Arabic people and their land, and endless insult and injury to a peoples dignity, honor, pride and sense of manhood; has evoked powerful resentments. It has unified a once non-unified people against a common foe; The West. I'm sure we do in fact look like a great Satan. Capitalism has led this exploitation. Unchecked by our own laws and customs which developed to protect our own people; Capitalist and their corporations have literally defecated upon the people of lessor developed cultures. Case point: the murderous presence of Dow Chemicals in India and the subsequent loss of over 6000 citizens. They saved money. They avoided OSHA. And they murdered for profit.
From the crusades of western Christianity; to the British Royal Empire and its wanna-be Rome imperialist colonization; to Americas unleashed Capitalist bulldozer; the people of the middle-east have had every right to feel the need to fight back. We rightfully should hang our heads in shame.
But we have long ago let the proverbial cat out of the bag. There is no rewind button; there is no turning back. From our horrible acts which in turn led them to their terrorist retaliation; each domino will continue to fall. The global momentum involving masses of people and the cultural and geographical divides are too great to stop. It will continue its destructive snow-balling for generations to come.
They kill our citizens, and fly our planes into our significant national landmarks. In turn, we invade and bomb and occupy lands and people. We leave an inadequate sized stagnant army of occupation; and they grow in their unity and resistance as each day passes. And the Capitalist horde rolls in the dough. Profiteering becomes the new business model as we let corporations control our government, and kill our very own children in combat for a few select individuals to have material gain.
Our governments present controlling administration, is doing just enough mobilization into the region to avoid the world from turning against it. But not enough to actually overcome the resistance. A prolonged war of occupation is more profitable than a short and efficient one. Texas money and armaments fanned the fire of the Vietnam conflict; and Texas profits fan the fire of this one. Irony is in the fact that the two most bloody and futile conflicts involving occupation happen to have associated Texas-based Presidential administrations. And no, I mean in no way to bash disrespectfully the citizens of Texas. It is not their fault, and it is not in their control anymore than the rest of us.
Decoys are thrown out. They claimed that 9/11 and the subsequent need to invade Iraq is what drove fuel prices through the roof. But 49% of our fuel is produced within the United States; almost 12% from Canada; 8% Mexico; 8% Venezuela; 7% West Africa; and less than 5% from Saudi Arabia;the rest broken into insignificant amounts from a wide spectrum of minor nations. The Middle-East being the least. If oil from that region affects our economy that profoundly; then I am utterly shocked we didn't invade Mexico long ago.
Every few months, we find a new excuse to spin-doctor for our reasons to escalate and prolong our involvement. First, we needed to remove the emanate threat of Saddam Hussein. Then it was the comically overused weapons of mass destruction. Now, Iran is enriching uranium. Of course, we tried to evoke a response from the Syrians, and gain an excuse to land our Marines through the Gator navies on Syria's Mediterranean shores. But they didn't indulge us. They kept the terrorist within their borders at bay instead…Awe Shucks. We will find the needed pretext later when we begin our campaign against Iran.
Machiavelli taught that if you do something bad to someone; do so with a level of totality that will ensure that they could never rise up and retaliate. Many generations before us have added injury upon injury to the Arabic world. So much so, there is no saying we're sorry; there is no way to stop what has begun. Our only recourse now is to go ahead and serve the fatal blows while we have the chance. If there is to ever be a world peace. If there is to be a unified world. Then he who is most capable must utilize his might to overcome the other. The history of humankind and its civilizations, has been the continuous swallowing up and morphing of one culture into another. For the people of this modern world to think, this should, and has, come to end would be ludicrous. We cannot stop the ebb and flow of civilization and its natural evolution. It has gotten mankind this far; and must continue; if we are to truly become one unified global community with no national barriers. We as a species, have finally reached a level of technology that makes our world a much smaller place. In our world history, we are finally beginning to blend together. We our thinking alike; talking alike and dressing alike.
For the national boundaries to finally collapse, and a truly unified global community to form; we must eliminate the mass resistance from the disruptive elements within our own country and the lessor developed cultures that fall more and more behind as time rolls on. We will never get them up to speed and cultivated unless they are assimilated and forced into a more cultivated state of existence. They have to be forced to evolve themselves into a more peaceful and cooperative global participant. In a parental manner, we are obligated as the reigning superpower to clean up the mess that generations of westerners have created. As the reigning superpower we are the only ones who can do it. We have the might to overpower.
Alexander the Great; the most accomplished of Aristotle's pupils; was spreading civilization throughout the known world. He immediately established Greek level education and made it mandatory. He established Greek level medicine and legal systems, and provided rights for women and children, in the very region, we still have deal with in a similar fashion to this day. Unfortunately, it wasn't sustained; but this next time around hopefully it will.
Ultimately, it has all been our fault; we here in the West. We unleashed the people of this region against us. We bought the oil from their tribal leaders and created immense wealth for people still too underdeveloped to use it responsibly. We then profited off them by selling them the weapons they needed to continue the timeless conflicts amongst themselves. We openly treated them as inferior and exploited them. We kindled their envy. We unified them against us. Now western civilization has only one recourse; to finish the job; and by the most harsh of means. We must overpower and disarm. We must force them to behave and knock the chip off their shoulder.
