In Memory of David Carradine

davidcarradinekungfudavidcarradineflutebwDavid departed this life June 3, 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand while on location for a film. He will be sorely missed by family and friends the world over.
I really think this sucks. Granted, at the age of 72, we would lose him eventually. But it would have been so much better that he died in his sleep or in a manner which maintained his dignity and memory proper.

I really don't believe what some have hinted at it being a sexual mishap – similar to the lead singer of INXS. Auto erotic asphyxiation. He was much to old to engage in crazy sex acts like this – surely. I believe there was possibly faul play or tragic suicide.
I can't say that I was a perfect fan of his – I thought he was a little to too eccentric at times – but I have a deep connection to his character Caine from Kung Fu. And of course, Ah Sahm from the film Circle of Iron.

As a kid in the early seventies, Caine was the ultimate cool hero of our age. We related to Caine and adopted his philosophy. We took Martial Arts lessons due to his influence and thus carry with us our entire lives a TV characters influence.
